What You Need to Know about Pressure WashingFor the longest time, pressure washing was among the only known methods to clean exterior surfaces. Pressure washers were being used to clean any surfaces that couldn’t be reached or easily cleaned with a sponge or squeegee, such as siding, gutters, roofs, fences, sidewalks, etc. It was later discovered that there were other cleaning methods that were safer and more effective, like soft washing.

While we tend to use soft washing more often for our exterior cleaning services because it is appropriate for the more delicate surfaces, we do still offer pressure washing at times.

Here are a few things you should know about pressure washing.

  • It can potentially damage delicate surfaces: Because of the high water pressure, pressure washing can potentially damage more delicate surfaces like siding, decks, and roofs.
  • Great for flat, durable surfaces: Even though pressure washing should never be used on delicate surface materials, it can be great for flat, durable surfaces, like concrete driveways, walkways, and patios. The durability of concrete can withstand the high pressure, and that pressure can be rather effective to remove deeply embedded stains like oil or grease stains.
  • Better left to the professionals: While you might be able to rent pressure washers, it’s always best to leave the pressure washing to professionals like us. We know how to use just the right amount of water pressure to clean your surface and how to safely handle the equipment. We also know how to accurately determine which surfaces can benefit from pressure washing and which will need soft washing instead to prevent any damage.
